Power operates through intersecting systems of oppression and privilege (Avelino, 2021), shaping not only institutions but the everyday experiences of women – especially migrant and racialised women – in employment and entrepreneurship.
This Special Issue explores how female (migrant and non-migrant) individuals, or individuals perceived as women, navigate and contest power structures within the labour market — including entrepreneurial ecosystems.
We invite contributions across disciplines such as sociology, political science, organisational studies, labour economics, law, and cultural studies. We particularly welcome empirical work on:
✅ Gendered and racialised institutions
✅ Power dynamics in entrepreneurship
✅ Precarity, informal labour & economic autonomy
✅ Feminist resistance and activism
✅ Global and postcolonial perspectives
✅ Methodological innovation in intersectional research
